GENERAL FAQ

For the first couple years of Acro, there are TONS of skills to do within an 8x12ft space inside the home. These include (but not limited to): handstands, backbends, kickovers, various rolls, strength & flexibility. For higher levels we can work on standing tumbling (tucks/BHS’s/floor skills).

For gymnasts, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the home gym’s now days. Many homes have invested in a good bar, a solid beam, and a mat/airtrack for floor.

THIS IS SUPPLEMENTAL to training at a gym, as I simply cannot replace a cheerleading gym with a spring floor and tumble track at home. I recommend training AT LEAST 3-5 days a week for serious athletes, outside of this lesson. (This includes strength building, flexibiltiy, handstand conditioning, cardio, etc).

Short answer – it’s not ideal, however it’s absolutely better than nothing! For kids working tucks, layouts & beyond, a trampoline and/or 20ft+ airtrack is ideal. We can work on shaping, drills and concepts of tumbling that they can then use at a physical gym.

YES, BUT IT TRULY DEPENDS ON THE LEVELS OF EACH KID. When I started this, I said yes a lot to shared privates, but over the last 2 years I’ve seen these lesson most effective 1-on-1.

BILLING & SCHEDULING

Acro at Home is ran throughout the year during 3 “semesters” the school calendar. Spring, Summer & Fall. I work about 9 months of the year, similar to a teacher and mirror the local school calendars.

DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR: Monday-Thursday there is a set schedule for 3 houses a night. Families commit to the 12 weeks (for Fall) or 14 weeks (for spring), with the same schedule each week.

SPACE AT HOME & EQUIPMENT

It really depends on the level of skills.

Absolutely. Before leaving each day I wipe down the mats using tea-tree based products, and any carpeted equipment is vacuumed. Between houses though, occasionally you may find pet hair from the previous house. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE families to vacuum the floor before arrival (just don’t want to pass on pethair that someone may be allergic to!).
